Creased
cards a hit at the National Stationery Show
 Creased
exhibited for the first time at this year's National Stationery
Show, the annual superconvention for manufacturers, distributors,
and retailers of
greeting cards, stationery, and all kinds of related products held
at New York's Jacob Javits Convention Center in May. We
had a great time setting up our booth, arranging our displays,
and showing the buyers our handmade origami  greeting
cards, in many cases finding
new
members
of the
Creased
family.
We even handed out origami for people to stick to their convention
badges, spreading the word about the ancient art of paper folding.
The theme of the show was embracing the "Power of Paper";
how better to do that than with origami? [Photos show Creased

Our cards received plenty of compliments; one Pennsylvania retailer
told
us that the
Creased
cards she ordered
were "the
find of the Show." We also made new friends among our neighbors
exhibiting in the surrounding booths. After months of planning
it was a blast
to finally be at the big event showcasing our beautiful cards.

Origamists
line up for Creased cards at origami convention
 For
the second year in a row, Creased participated in the annual Origami
USA, held in June on the campus of the Fashion Institute
of Technology in Manhattan. OUSA is a chance for origamists to
get together and teach and learn new origami models, socialize,
and meet well-known origamists and authors. Included in the convention
is a whole floor  dedicated to selling origami products, and Creased
was there. It was an honor to receive compliments on our cards
from some of the most talented origamists we know of, and to have
a chance to share techniques and learn new skills. Creased founder
Sok Song taught classes this year--on origami models for greeting
cards, naturally--and exhibited some of his own origami art at
a special exhibition featuring artwork from artists around the
world, including a remarkably lifelike purple orchid plant. OUSA
is one of the highlights of our year and we look forward to next
year's event.
